As hinted at back in the E3 trailer, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be the first game in the series to feature co-op play. In this PSP exclusive sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3, you’ll be able to team up in squads of up to what appears to be four players and utilize new cooperative stealth and combat tactics, as you can see in this extensive 9-minute trailer from Gamescom. Co-op should add an interesting new dynamic to the MGS experience. My only hope is that solo play remains an option, as I don’t want Peace Walker to go the way of Resident Evil 5 and force annoying AI co-op companions on the player. Other than that, I’m all for Snake-on-Snake cardboard box cuddling!

Fuck-ing-awesome. Pardon my language, but co-op is welcome for me as long as it can be on or offline.
FIRST! Hopefully
Looks very cool! I wonder if the co-op is going to be Ad-Hoc only, or if infrastructure will also be an option as well? I’m sure game sharing will not be an option, since they’ll want to sell has many copies as possible.
I don’t see game share happening, but Portable Ops had full online play so I wouldn’t expect anything different here. If Konami is going to tout co-op, the game better support ad-hoc and infrastructure. Hopefully we’ll hear more specifics at TGS.
