PSP Extended Life Battery Kit Surfaces

According to a pair of product shots that have just popped up on the SCEA press site, Sony has a new Extended Life Battery Kit coming to the PSP. There’s no official documentation with the pics and I couldn’t find any retail listings for the kit in a quick search around the web, but as you can see in the provided images the kit includes a 2200 mAh battery that “adds hours of PSP battery life” over the 20% less powerful 1800 mAh original battery and two battery pack cover plates, and is labeled as compatible with the new slim PSP and the original model. I have no clue when this will hit stores or what the pricing will be, although the 2200 mAh extended life battery had already been released by itself some time ago for like 40 bucks I think, so it’ll probably be around that same price I would imagine…

[Update] After posting this story, I dropped a line into Sony to find out more about the release details. I can now confirm that the PSP battery kit will be coming out in mid December for $44.99.
