Fresh from the Game Developers Conference, Logitech has announced the Driving Force GT racing wheel, the official Gran Turismo wheel for PS3 and PS2. Logitech and Polyphony Digital have worked in tandem to make the Driving Force GT the perfect companion to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (though it’ll also be compatible with GT HD Concept and GT3 and GT4 for PS2). For the first time ever in a racing wheel, GT racers will be able to adjust a car’s brake bias, traction control and damper settings all on the fly using the innovative new real-time adjustment dial built right into the front of the wheel face. Force feedback will also be better than ever, simulating understeer, oversteer, and traction loss with greater accuracy and authenticity than ever before. Now that’s taking gaming wheels to the next level!

While Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is set for disc and PSN digital download release on April 17th, the Driving Force GT won’t be available until sometime in May, so unfortunately you won’t be able to walk out of your favorite game shop with the game and wheel in hand on day one. But the wait’ll be worth it, I’m sure. Once it’s ready to go, it’ll retail for $150, so you better start saving up now. In the meantime, here are some hi-res product shots for you to drool over.
