Brett Favre Named Cover Athlete for Madden NFL 09

Brett Favre may now be retired from the NFL (whether he stays retired is the real question), but you won’t soon be forgetting about him, especially if you’re a Madden fan. EA Sports has announced today that the former Green Bay Packer QB legend and lock NFL Hall of Famer has been signed on as the 20th anniversary cover athlete for Madden NFL 09, which snaps into retail on August 12th for Wii, DS, PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360 and even the old Xbox (that’s quite a shocker, I didn’t think anyone was making original Xbox games anymore). I guess we can now forget about the whole Madden curse nonsense for this season, unless Favre makes a comeback and stinks up the joint or something.
