Since its launch in late July, The King of Fighters XII has taken a pummeling from fans and critics over its less-than-optimized online play. But finally relief is here…at least for PS3 brawlers.

A post went up on the Ignition Entertainment boards earlier today announcing that Patch 1.02 for the PS3 version of The King of Fighters XII has gone live, the aim to sure up the game’s online netcode and eliminate all the bugs and lag players have been suffering through over the past month. No official word yet on when the Xbox 360 version’s patch will be released.

This patch comes just in the nick of time for me, as I’m already in progress finishing up a review for posting this week. I’ll have to update the game tonight and see how much the patch helps. Back with my final impressions in a few.

If you’ve been able to try out the new patch, let us know what you think in the comments.
