LittleBigPlanet “Leerdammer” Update Bringing Online Create Mode, Dropping Score System

LittleBigPlanet — what I like to call “The Game That Keeps on Giving” — will continue its giving ways on Monday, November 30th with perhaps the most significant free update since the game’s launch. So what’s so significant about it, you ask? That’s easy. Update 1.21, codenamed Leerdammer, will finally institute the long-awaited Online Create mode enabling four players to hook up online and collaboratively creative levels!

Other features of the update will include improved networking code and matchmaking, new save game functionality, double the save space for photos and costumes, easier LittleBigStore navigation and more. Of course, the update will also trim out the “Play, Create, Share” scoring system that probably shouldn’t have made it into the final product in the useless state it’s been in from the beginning. Media Molecule may work on the system and bring it back at some point, but for now it’s a goner.

The video posted up top is a brief walkthrough of the update’s main features. More patch info can be found at the source link below.
