A Little Summer House Cleaning

As you may have noticed, some minor tweaks have been made to the site layout over the past couple of weeks, and I just wanted to pop in with a quick update on the specifics.

The two main changes center on video content. First and foremost, we have reorganized our delivery of video game trailers. To clean up the sidebar area, we have removed the trailer link list and added a ‘Videos’ heading to the main menu running across the top of the site in its place. We have now set up a system to automatically generate dedicated trailer posts whenever a new video is uploaded to our YouTube channel. This way we keep the content within the confines of our blog, without transporting you over to YouTube. So, be sure to monitor the home page for new posts in the ‘Latest Headlines’ list, or bookmark our trailers archive for direct access, as new videos will be going up around the clock.

Also on the video front, we recently received an updated Machinima video player, currently on display in the right sidebar area. The player is a bit cleaner and easier to use than the last version, so hopefully you can enjoy the awesome video content Machinima provides us with on a daily basis even more. Please do check it out — every video view helps support VGBlogger.

I’ll likely be tinkering around even more as the summer continues and I’m always looking for ideas on how to make the site better, so your feedback is certainly welcomed. If there are any specific feature requests or general suggestions you may have for improving navigation and readability, please give us a shout in the comments.

We are also currently in search of another game reviewer to bring on staff. If you are interested in the gig, please click over to our wanted ad for details on how to apply. Moving forward, we are going to be focusing more on reviews and a bit less on the usual press release news regurgitation.
