A Rough But Oh So Beautiful Guide to Travel in The Banner Saga

Kickstarter funded indie strategy-RPG The Banner Saga has been traveling a very long road toward completion, a journey that will finally come to an end when the PC/Mac game with the prettiest beards and banners launches on January 14, 2014.

Appropriately, travel is a huge part of the game itself. In between turn-based battles, The Banner Saga will require players to manage their caravan of vikings as they trek across an absolutely massive and artistically jaw-dropping world map. Morale, supplies, and population will need to be closely monitored to keep the party prepared for the tough battles ahead. Choices made will also have an impact on how the story progresses. And as the band of bearded folk grows, so too will the banner waving overhead. So, you could say the traveling mechanic is sort of like The Oregon Trail mixed with a touch of Journey. I’m down for that!
