Obsidian Entertainment’s oft-delayed “espionage RPG” Alpha Protocol finally begins to near completion, with Sega today slotting the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 title into a confirmed launch date. As of now, Alpha Protocol is scheduled to ship throughout North America on June 1st, right on time to give gamers something to play over the hot summer months to follow.
“The wait has been worth it. It is time for an RPG to go beyond fantasy and space,” said Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing for SEGA of America. “The genre needs a shot in the arm, and renowned developer Obsidian has delivered. Alpha Protocol will be the absolute best it can be, and we look forward to revealing fresh aspects of it to the community in the upcoming months.”
Obviously stoked about making this announcement, Sega has also released a new trailer and a handful of new screenshots, in addition to unveiling the game’s snazzy new cover art. Those assets can be found on the jump.
