An Introduction to Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD’s Story and Hero Mode

Man, Wind Waker HD has been all over the news the past few days, from the Wii U console bundle with the customized gold-etched GamePad and the early digital copy of the game to the retail Collector’s Edition with the awesome Ganondorf statue. Now it’s time to take a closer look at the game itself, and how beautifully Nintendo has remastered the game’s toon-shaded engine for the age of high definition.

We have two new trailers here for you to check out. The first one introduces the storyline and sets players up for the grand adventure to come. And the other offers a preview of the Hero Mode, a higher difficulty option that doubles damage from enemies (i.e. Link will lose a full heart instead of half a heart when hit) and makes it so that Link won’t receive any recovery hearts from the plants and pots he slashes through.
