E3 2014: Arrowhead’s Gauntlet Reboot Gears Up for E3

The Gauntlet reboot from the creators of Magicka is shaping up to be a co-op dungeon crawling blast from the past with just the right amount of modern flair. As highlighted by the E3 gameplay trailer, the new Relics system will allow players to unleash an impressive array of ancient spells and abilities upon their foes. Will all these crazy superpowers take away from the retro purity of chasing and chopping through hordes of enemies? Maybe a little, but man oh man does the game look fun.

Pre-order bonuses are available now in anticipation of Gauntlet‘s return this September 3rd as a PC-exclusive digital download. I’m still holding out hope for Arrowhead and Warner Bros. to announce console versions. Maybe we’ll hear something at E3…
