Assassin’s Creed III is out this week. Who’s playing? I’m not unfortunately, and probably won’t be for the foreseeable future with so many other games I’m already committed to at the moment. (Tim will be reviewing it for us here coming up though, so stay tuned for that.)
I hear it’s really good, but apparently it’s also suffering a bit from the dreaded first week glitch jitters that seem to ail all too many AAA game launches these days. Thankfully there are no glitches to mar The Art of Assassin’s Creed III, Titan Books’ companion art book to the latest open world assassination adventure from Ubisoft. It’s nothing but 140+ pages of pretty pictures (and some of those word things to read too).
I’ll go into more detail about this glorious art book in our holiday gift guides coming up later this month, but since it just arrived (yes, new book smell!) I figured I’d skim through and upload some sample pics to tide you over. These are some of the pages that caught my eye:

I don’t think I can ever get enough AC media. This art book looks fantastic!
I’m the same way. It’s weird, I’ve always sorta liked the look and concept of Assassin’s Creed more than the actual games. Not to say I don’t enjoy the games, because I do. But something about the historical settings and style of the characters has a stronger appeal for me than the actual gameplay.
