Atlus USA continues to bolster its early 2009 lineup and further diversify its portfolio of game offerings beyond RPGs with today’s unveiling of Tokyo Beat Down, a campy, 70′s-style beat ‘em up for DS. Due for release on March 10th, Tokyo Beat Down will have you kicking ass and taking names on the mean streets of Tokyo as the Beast Cops, a badass team of police officers ready to do anything necessary to bring Tokyo’s most cold-blooded criminals to justice, all in the nostalgic style of classic coin-op brawlers like Final Fight and Double Dragon. Tokyo Beat Down will offer three playable cops, each with unique play styles, witty dialogue and a branching storyline leading to multiple endings.
Check after the break for the first trailer and screenshots, and brace yourself for an extreme rush of nostalgia!

In 2004, three years removed from high school and still looking for a career direction in life, Matt landed his first gig in the video game review business writing for the now-defunct website BonusStage.com. After the sad and untimely close of BonusStage, the former staff went on to found VGBlogger.com, and after a short stint as US Site Manager for AceGamez Matt turned his attention to VGBlogger, and to this day is dedicated to making it one of the top video game blogs in all the blogosphere.
