Atlus USA continues to bolster its early 2009 lineup and further diversify its portfolio of game offerings beyond RPGs with today’s unveiling of Tokyo Beat Down, a campy, 70’s-style beat ’em up for DS. Due for release on March 10th, Tokyo Beat Down will have you kicking ass and taking names on the mean streets of Tokyo as the Beast Cops, a badass team of police officers ready to do anything necessary to bring Tokyo’s most cold-blooded criminals to justice, all in the nostalgic style of classic coin-op brawlers like Final Fight and Double Dragon. Tokyo Beat Down will offer three playable cops, each with unique play styles, witty dialogue and a branching storyline leading to multiple endings.

Check after the break for the first trailer and screenshots, and brace yourself for an extreme rush of nostalgia!
