A second game starring the Caped Crusader has been announced today.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, a companion game to Arkham Origins on PC and consoles, is currently in development for Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita and is scheduled to simul-launch with the big brother versions on October 25th.
Armature Studio, the dev house founded by former lead members of Retro Studios, has been brought on to develop Batman’s first foray into handheld crime fighting on the latest portable gaming machines from Nintendo and Sony.
Warner Bros. isn’t dishing out many details about Blackgate just yet, but based on what has been announced so far we know that it is a 2.5-D action/adventure game that will continue the storyline found in the HD home version of Arkham Origins. Given the developers’ former work on the Metroid Prime trilogy, Metroid-style exploration is expected. The Dark Knight, with all his gear and gadgets, is the perfect hero to carry on the Samus Aran tradition.
