Beautiful Katamari Demo Rolls Onto XBL

Namco Bandai has treated Xbox 360 owners to a nice little surprise today, launching the first official demo for Beautiful Katamari earlier this morning on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo is small in stature, consisting of only one brief three-minute stage, but it’s enough to show that the series staple Katamari rolling action, oddball art style and wacky music are back in full force — overall there doesn’t seem to be much difference compared to the previous titles though. I will say this, though, the game controls do feel smoother and more precise this time around. Hop on Live and check the demo out for yourself now.

“The Beautiful Katamari demo is a perfect introduction to 360 owners as it shows off the game’s brilliant new HD graphics, unique rolling gameplay, and wild and quirky Katamari-styled theme,” Makoto Iwai, Executive Vice President and COO, NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., said. “The new demo will have the Xbox 360 audience in love with Katamari as soon as they start rolling, guaranteed.”
