SouthPeak Games has announced a new DS game this week titled Big Bang Mini, which is currently due out this fall. Shame it’s not coming out on the 4th of July, that would’ve been so perfect (and patriotic!).

Anyhoo… in quick summation, Big Bang Mini is a fireworks-themed shooter that’ll challenge you to combat waves of attacking enemies by using the stylus to explode fireworks and take them down. Successfully complete a level and you’ll get to create your very own “Final Bouquet” to celebrate the achievement. There’ll be over 90 levels, four game modes and multiplayer. Continue along for the first screenshots.

“We usually only get to see fireworks, but with Big Bang Mini you get to make the fireworks,” said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Interactive. “Not only will you be able to see the dazzling sparks but you’ll also be able to create them with each stroke of the stylus. It’s an amazing experience that is sure to give an adrenaline rush every time players manage to set off a huge display.”

“I have yet to find someone who doesn’t love fireworks,” said Camille Guermonprez, Managing Director of Arkedo Studio. “With Big Bang Mini, we’re trying to combine the thrill of an intense action shooter with the beauty of a grand fireworks display. If there’s anything players won’t like about the game, it will be that they’re too involved in striking and dodging to appreciate the light show they’re creating.”
