Bionic Commando Rearms Again

News is flooding in today from Capcom’s recent Captivate 2010 media showcase in Hawaii, and the announcement of Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 caught my eye first.

While I do worry about whether or not the sequel can live up to the original reboot, especially since GRIN is no more and Fat Shark is reportedly the new developer on the project, the diehard Bionic Commando fan in me can’t be suppressed.

In Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, Nathan Spencer returns to his side-scrolling action roots, using his bionic abilities to stop General Sabio from launching a catastrophic missile attack. Nathan’s grappling hook arm will still be his most useful weapon; however, to appease all the whiners about the first game, the sequel will grant our bionic hero the ability to jump. Now everyone will just have to find something else to bitch about!

Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 is scheduled for digital download release via PSN and XBLA in Q1 2011.
