BioShock 2 Delayed, Rapture Closed Until 2010

Some sad news to report about one of this holiday season’s biggest games. At least it used to be…

BioShock 2, originally slated to ship October 30st internationally and November 3rd in the US, has been delayed by Take-Two Interactive to a release date in fiscal year 2010, which could be any time between November 1, 2009 and October 31, 2010.

Initially that meant there was still hope for the game to come out in time for the holidays, however GameSpot is reporting that Take-Two has confirmed with them that the game isn’t expected to see the light of day until “the first half of 2010.”

Shame really, but if it makes for a better game I’m all for it. I guess last week’s news about Arkane Studios being brought on board as a fourth developer should have been taken as a sign that the game still needed a lot of work…
