2K Games has announced over at The Cult of Rapture that a demo for the PS3 version of BioShock is planned for release on October 2nd. In just under three short weeks, PS3 owners will be able to log onto the PlayStation Store and take an early tour of the underwater world of Rapture in advance of the game’s October 21st street date. But be warned, you may want to sit the demo out and wait for the full game to hit. If the demo is the same one that came out prior to the PC/360 release, it may spoil some of the amazement of taking in the experience all at once. At least that’s what happened with me. I couldn’t resist the urge to try the demo out and see what all the hype was about, then when I started the full game the initial wow factor had worn off a bit. The game was still brilliant so it didn’t really matter, but in hindsight I wish I hadn’t tried the demo beforehand. Just some food for thought…
Once you’re done digesting that, chew on the fresh batch of tasty new screenshots posted after the break.
