Sony, via the PlayStation blog, has confirmed that the PlayStation Vita edition of Borderlands 2 will launch over the first two weeks of May.

The game will debut on May 6th as part of the previously announced bundle containing the new Vita Slim hardware, an 8GB memory card and a voucher for a digital copy of Borderlands 2.

A week later, on May 13th, the standalone game (including six DLC packs at no additional charge) will be made available to the Vita-owning public at retail and on the PlayStation Store.

Sneak a peek at Borderlands 2 in motion on a PlayStation Vita in the new gameplay trailer below. Obviously the texturing and frame rate have dropped from what the game offers on PC and consoles, but it still looks like good Borderlands shoot-and-loot fun. Only pocket-sized!
