Whether or not Bound by Flame is an enjoyable RPG experience won’t be known until we can actually get our hands on the game and play it sometime early next year, but one thing’s already for sure–this game has a monstrous bestiary of unique and impressively detailed creature designs, thanks once again to the Silk Engine created by French developer Spiders Studio.

We’ve seen images of some pretty gnarly beasts before, like this giant force of nature and these other monstrosities. Today’s latest round of creature screenshots not-so-kindly introduce us to the Bone Golem, the Lich, and the mighty general of the Living Dead. Wicked stuff!

Not only are all of these creatures visually distinct, but also designed with unique attacks, special abilities, and tactical behaviors, which aims to make the battle system, borrowed and further evolved from Mars: War Logs, even more tactically rich and dynamic.

Bound by Flame is another promising Spiders and Focus Home RPG sleeper to keep tabs on, folks. It’s scheduled to release early in 2014 on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox 360.
