Busy Week at Atlus

Atlus USA has had a busy week of news, including the announcement of two new games on tap for next year and the current shipping of two more games. Rather than touching on these items individually, I decided to compile all of the latest Atlus happenings below.

To the shipping news first, Atlus has released Trauma Center: Second Opinion, an enhanced remake of the DS’s Trauma Center: Under the Knife for the Wii, and Yggdra Union, a unique strategy-RPG for the GBA from the makers of last year’s fantastic GBA RPG Riviera: The Promised Land. Trauma Center: Second Opinion retails for $49.99 and Yggdra Union at $29.99, and both games have been rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB.

On the new games front, Atlus has announced a hot pair of portable titles: Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja for the Nintendo DS and Monster Kingdom Jewel Summoner for the PSP. Izuna, due out February 2007, is a comical, old school-style dungeon crawling RPG promising plenty of hardcore monster bashing, tough labyrinthine duneons to explore and customizable weapons. I’d tell you more, but not much info has been provided on this one as of yet.

Monster Kingdom Jewel Summoner, also slated for a February 2007 debut, is an all-original RPG developed exclusively for the PSP by Cozy Okada, Atlus Co-Founder and creator of the popular Shin Megami Tensei franchise. A ton of work is going into the game’s production values, especially the sound which will feature over five hours of top-notch voice acting and a soundtrack crafted by a “dream team” of over 10 gaming composers whose past works span a variety of hit titles, such as Final Fantasy XII, Chrono Trigger, the Ridge Racer series and more. On top of that, you can expect a captivating storyline, intuitive combat, a robust monster-breeding system and full Wi-Fi support for collecting, trading and battling monsters with your friends. Should be great!

No new assets were released to go along with any of these announcements, however they should be coming soon. As soon as we find out more we’ll be to deliver the goods.
