Atlus USA once again proves to be the most generous, fan-pleasing publisher in the gaming biz today by announcing a special two-games-in-one deal for the upcoming PSP version of bullet hell strategy-RPG Knights in the Nightmare, which is now scheduled for simultaneous UMD / PSN release on November 9th.
For a limited time, every single launch copy of KitN will come packed with a voucher to download a free copy of Yggdra Union via PSN. This is Atlus’ way of providing continuity for new players, as Princess Yggdra is an exclusive playable character in the PSP version of KitN.
And don’t worry, PSPgo owners, Atlus didn’t forget about you. The Yggdra Union bonus will also be offered to those who buy KitN from the PSN store at launch. So, whether you buy UMD or digital, you get the free game. That’s two spectacularly innovative RPGs for only $30!
Read my review of Yggdra Union from a couple years back and you’ll better understand how amazing an offer this truly is.

Way to go Atlus! Like you say – they are the most customer-friendly PSP publisher – they had a great sale at the PSP Go launch, and now this! Great deal. And since my old copy of Yggdra Union is UMD, you can bet I’ll grab this!
The sad thing is, as you well know, there is so much opportunity for other publishers to do deals like this on PSN and really make a killing…but for whatever reason they just don’t.
Like Square Enix- why not put Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep on PSN and sell it with a limited time voucher for a copy of Crisis Core? Or put Dissidia on there with a choice of a free download of one of the PSN classic Final Fantasy titles as a tie-in? Hell, Namco could’ve done something similar with Ace Combat: Joint Assault by bundling it with Ace Combat X.
I still just don’t get why more publishers don’t do stuff like this. These are all older games that are probably only being sold/traded on the used market nowadays, so incentiving new game purchases with stuff like this would seem to be a no-brainer move.
