Call of Duty: Black Ops II Going Black to the Future

Call of Duty: Black Ops II

More of a worst kept secret than even God of War: Ascension and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, Call of Duty: Black Ops II has been officially confirmed this evening with the release of the game’s first trailer. A familiar face returns, only this time with lots of wrinkles on it as Black Ops II is bringing the series into the near-future for another popcorn FPS blockbuster.

From the trailer, it seems the story revolves around the “what if?” scenario of terrorists hacking into drones and turning our own technology into an army of unmanned robotic invaders. There are tons of explosions to see, a whole lot of cockpit views (suggesting flight combat), and even some horseback riding. Wait, where did that come from?

Call of Duty: Black Ops II launches November 13th for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
