First Insecticide PC Episode Goes Gold, Finally Gets a Release Date!

Finally, finally, FINALLY! The first episode in the bisodic downloadable PC version of Insecticide has gone gold and is all set to hit the internets, at long last. Crackpot Entertainment’s bug-filled action/adventure title will be launching next week on June 13th via GameTap, Direct2Drive, and Paradox (which I presume means GamersGate) for a price of $14.99. I’m a bit surprised there’s no Steam release set, but hopefully one will come at some point.

Sam & Max Season Two Update: First Episode 205 Details

Telltale Games has finally revealed the title for the Sam & Max Season Two season finale. Episode 205: Whats New, Beelzebub? takes the dynamic duo straight to Hell to reclaim Bosco’s soul from Satan himself. Whats New, Beelzebub? launches on GameTap on April 10th and the Telltale website on April 11th. Here’s the hilarious debut trailer.

Sam & Max 203: Night of the Raving Dead: First Details, Trailer and Screenshots

Good news Sam & Max fans. Episode 203, Night of the Raving Dead, is coming out ahead of schedule! Previously slated for a February 14th/15th launch, Episode 203 is now hitting GameTap on Feb. 12th and telltalegames.com on Feb. 13th. That’s two less days to wait for the continuation of Sam & Max’s second season of off-the-wall investigations and hilarious parodies!

With today’s date change news also comes the first story details, trailer and screenshots. Check below for the Night of the Raving Dead debut trailer and gallery, then hit up the Episode 203 game page for a brief synopsis (and the same trailer and screens if you’d prefer to view them there).

GameTap Expands

Already leading the way in online subscription gaming and broadband entertainment, GameTap is about to grow even bigger with new expansion plans that were laid out today. First and foremost, GameTap is adopting a new day-and-date subscription play and digital retail model to have games for sale online and have titles available for purchase on the network the day they ship to retailers. Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary will be the launch game for this new service, with the game hitting digital retail right when it hits store shelves.

As of May 31st, GameTap will also be opening up its vaults to offer over 30 games to download and play free of charge using a new ad-supported free-to-play program, with additional free-to-play titles to be added to the list on a weekly basis thereafter. Games like Tomb Raider: Legend, Rampage, Metal Slug, Bust-A-Move, Space Invaders, Joust and Robotron: 2084 will be among the first free games available. Original GameTap TV programming will be available for free as well.

Myst Online: Uru Live Launches for Mac

GameTap has announced that Myst Online: Uru Live has launched today for the Mac platform, now providing Mac users the chance to join in on the same puzzle-solving MMO adventuring that PC gamers have been enjoying since February, with all the same content updates and new features releasing across both platforms simultaneously.

“Myst Online: Uru Live has been the number one game on GameTap since its launch in February,” said Ricardo Sanchez, GameTap’s vice president of content. “So we are thrilled this new audience can experience GameTap’s original content.”

“Traditionally, Mac users have been very strong supporters of the legendary Myst franchise,” said Vikas Gupta, CEO and President of TransGaming, Inc. “We are very excited to be working with GameTap to bring this title back to that group of core fans.”
