Two highly anticipated DS titles (by me at least) have shipped off to US retailers today courtesy of THQ, including Lock’s Quest and Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise. Lock’s Quest is a unique hybrid of action, adventure, strategy and building simulation, and comes from 5TH Cell, the talented and creative development team behind last year’s DS hit Drawn to Life. Pocket Paradise, on the other hand, is the latest installment in the popular Viva Pinata garden simulation series originating on the Xbox 360 and the first to appear on a handheld gaming platform.
Lock’s Quest and Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise have both been rated “E” for Everyone by the ESRB and retail for $30 each.

Next up from the creative brains behind Drawn to Life is a little DS title by the name of Lock’s Quest, a sort of fort-building strategy tower defense game. Drawn to Life caught a lot of flack for being far too simplistic as an actual game, but Lock’s Quest is clearly aiming to be a bit more demanding and complex. My interest has definitely been piqued.
Trailer and screenshots are available for your viewing after the break.
