Mondays are no fun. No, Mondays just plain suck. But thanks to EA and PopCap this particular Monday sucks a little less than usual.
Promoting Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, which is scheduled to bloom on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in spring 2016, new wallpaper art has been released parodying various game franchises.
So, FIFA ’16 with a little PvZ flavor becomes LEAFA ’16. Halo 5: Guardians becomes Aloe 5: Gardening. Minecraft switches out a letter to grow into Vinecraft. Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst? Nope, now it’s Mirror’s Hedge: Catalyst. Recent E3 2015 darling Unravel even gets in on the gag with an Untangle spoof.
It would be amazing if PopCap actually ran with this idea and designed the game’s costumes and maps around parodies of other franchises. Too bad all of this is just a promotional stunt. But oh well, at least they’re good for a quick laugh.

November 15th may be PlayStation 4 launch day and all, but for PC gamers and role-playing game enthusiasts there is something even more important happening on that day. In case you forgot, that’s when Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition comes out (for Windows and Mac), a game with more depth and quality than probably every PS4 launch game combined. It’s the greatest RPG ever created as far as I’m concerned.
If you adore Baldur’s Gate II as much as I do, you’re gonna be amped through the roof to check out these new Enhanced Edition screenshots and desktop wallpapers. Beamdog’s even uploaded three 20-second music samples from the game’s soundtrack, which you can also listen to below. From what I can tell these are teasers of the themes for three of the four new party allies Overhaul Games is adding to this updated re-release.

Rockstar Games is putting on a small fireworks show of its own this fine Fourth of July holiday. But instead of pyrotechnic explosives, they’re lighting up your PC desktop, iOS device, Blackberry, Vita etc with a colorful display of original wallpaper artwork from the sprawling open world of Grand Theft Auto V.
These new art pieces also offer a glimpse into the lives of other Los Santos residents who aren’t named Michael, Franklin, or Trevor. There’s Lamar, Franklin’s partner-in-crime who apparently enjoys jacking cars as a favorite hobby. And then there are Tracey and Jimmy, the daughter and son of Michael, one who dresses like a slut, and the other who spends his time gaming, hitting the bong, munching out and flipping his sister the bird. I’m guessing Michael isn’t a very good father figure.
Download the new artwork in various resolutions as well as buddy icons and avatars at www.rockstargames.com/downloads.
Direct from the Batman: Arkham Origins Facebook page comes a set of three new desktop wallpapers pulled from the game’s first trailer featuring the Dark Knight battling Deathstroke in CG.
Only one question remains: Batman or Deathstroke? I’m going with Batman. Nooo… I’m going with Deathstroke. Oh, I just can’t make up my mind here. Why couldn’t they make one with both characters?

Wanna adorn your desktop with images of giant robots engaged in arena battles for sport? Well, you’re in luck! Heavy Gear Assault, the Unreal Engine 4-fueled multiplayer mech combat game from Stompy Bot Productions and MekTek Studios, just had its official website updated with some fresh wallpaper. I’m always on the prowl for new desktop artwork, and for my fellow wallpaper connoisseurs I put the 1920×1080 pics into the gallery on this page for quick access. If you need a different size head over to the game’s media page for everything from 1024×768 up to as large as 2560×1440.

Warner Bros. sent over this new piece of LEGO The Lord of the Rings artwork today, an amazing hero shot of all nine Fellowship of the Ring minifig companions posing as they embark on their quest to destroy the One Ring.
Feel free to download it and don’t be surprised if it ends up posted as your desktop background, even if the dimensions aren’t ideal for wallpapering. The gray bordering is not very appealing, but I couldn’t resist plastering it to my desktop any way.
While you’re stopping by, don’t forget to check out the new LEGO The Lord of the Rings Gamescom trailer and screenshots at the links below.

Nintendo has released a bunch of new artwork for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, due for 3DS release on June 19th, and needless to say it’s absolutely gorgeous stuff. The bulk of the gallery consists of character and enemy concepts, but the first six illustration pieces are true works of art, and if you’re a Zelda fan at least one of them is destined to become your next desktop wallpaper. I just set the piece highlighted up top as my own wallpaper, but it’ll definitely get rotated out for the one of Link and Sheik standing back to back playing the ocarina and lyre together. Which will you choose?

A pack of Trine 2 concept art was released with the game’s unveil yesterday, and it is so beautiful I immediately went to my PC desktop to plaster one up as a wallpaper. I had a tough time choosing at first, but right now I’m going with the campsite scene showing the game’s heroic band of adventurers resting after what I’m sure was a long day of creating floating boxes, swinging to and fro from grappling hooks, and cracking skeleton heads.
Go ahead, flip through the art gallery and start showing off your love for Trine today!

Haze‘s Community Developer popped in on the PlayStation.Blog again today to answer a few reader questions, and before signing off posted up a collection of hilarious “Tiny Trooper” Haze wallpapers as a nice little parting gift. There’s Tiny Trooper and baby Tiny Trooper shopping for copies of the game. Tiny Trooper unloading dual-fisted Gatling guns. Tiny Trooper lifting weights. And the sure-to-be favorite, Tiny Trooper reading PlayStation magazine while on the shitter (pictured above). Follow the link below to check ’em all out. Even if you decide not to adorn your desktop with any of them, they’ll at least give you a good laugh.
