No, I’m not lying here, folks. Similar to its multi-platform releases of Soul Calibur II, Namco Bandai has announced this evening that Soul Calibur IV will be merging with Star Wars to give each version of the game a special exclusive character — the PS3 gets Darth Vader and the 360 gets Yoda (with speculation that more Star Wars characters may come later on as add-on content). I’m not quite sure I’m sold on the whole idea since neither character fits into the SC universe particularly well, but if I had to pick I’d say PS3 gamers are getting the best end of this deal. Yoda is cool and all, but I’d much rather fight as Vader myself…
1UP broke the news earlier today, so be sure to hit up their story for more info and the first screenshots of both characters in action. Also check out this official trailer Namco Bandai has released teasing the new Star Wars fighters.
