Come Watch the Steam Controller in Action

Valve has posted a video demonstration of the Steam Controller prototype working its dual trackpad magic on a few different game types.

From Portal 2 to Civilization V to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to Papers, Please, the Steam Controller appears to replicate the precision and response of a mouse and keyboard remarkably well. But of course watching someone use the controller is one thing; the true test will come when gamers get it in their own hands and test it out. How the trackpads feel under the fingers, missing that physical resistance of a button or analog stick, simply can’t be demonstrated in a video.

Still, it’s nice to see how the trackpads handle cursor movement and keyboard functions in a gamepad format. If you like what you see, stay tuned for more to come as Valve will soon be sharing additional demonstrations of the Steam Controller at work with other types of games.
