Big day on the Condemned 2: Bloodshot front. A huge update for the PS3 and 360 first-person thriller just arrived this afternoon, and with it comes an official ship date (March 11th), the first details on the game’s multiplayer modes, and a new asset pack containing eight screenshots and two short clips of gameplay footage (both showing off the multiplayer, of course).

Condemned 2‘s newly added multiplayer component will allow up to eight players to beat each other’s brains out online in four modes, including the following.

Crime Scene is an innovative round-based competition to find and protect valuable evidence within the Condemned universe. One team will use their forensic tools to track and scan the evidence while the opposing team will do everything in their power to keep the evidence hidden and protected.

Bum Rush is a team-based race against time. With three minutes before one team can safely be evacuated, players must hold off an onslaught of attacks by the other team until the timer runs out in order to stand a chance of survival.

Deathmatch is the classic free-for-all mode. Players can use every weapon they can find to dispatch enemies as quickly as possible in this melee battle royale. The player with the highest score at the end of the time limit wins.

Team Deathmatch is the team-based version of the classic free-for-all mode. Working together, players pick up weapons from the environment and fight off as many enemies as possible before the clock runs down. The team with the highest score after the time limit wins.

To highlight what to expect from the multiplayer bloodshed, Sega has provided the following screenshots and gameplay videos. The screenshots are fantastic, but I’m not sure the clips do the game much justice, as their incredibly short and appear as if they were recorded from a pretty early build. Still looks like it should be a brutally fun time. I’m especially intrigued by the Crime Scene mode.
