Arrgh! Ahoy there mateys! We’ve teamed up with Capcom for a little pirate-themed contest in anticipation of their upcoming swashbuckling RTS game Age of Booty. The contest is simple enough. See that monkey below? He’s a character from Age of Booty and he desperately needs a name, so we want you to help give him one. Once you’ve thought of the perfect name, either post it in the comments or, if you’re feeling a bit bashful, send it to our contest line at contests@vgblogger.com with the subject line “Age of Booty Contest”.
We will be accepting submissions now through October 16th. At the end of the contest, whomever comes up with the best name for our little pirate monkey friend will be awarded an Age of Booty T-shirt (randomly selected from one of the two shirts pictured here) and a PlayStation Network or Xbox Live Arcade code to download Age of Booty when it releases. You must reside in the US to enter and you may only enter once.
This is the final day. If you haven’t entered yet hurry and get your submission in now before it’s too late!
The name of the monkey should be Plank.
Wow, that’s one scary looking monkey, my personal choice is Garn the Armed
Monchichi of Death?
or Mono Loco?
Two Pence or Tupence
Rum Rascal
Molly!!
A parrot would normally be called “Polly” so the monkey should be “Molly”
I think an ode to a real pirate would be cool with a touch of monkey in there. How about
Bananito de Soto
Bento de Soto was an honest to goodness pirate. I hope the Bannana part was evident for the bit of monkey in the name.
Cheers! Wheres me rum at?
I would call him Coco
i think his name should be anplay off pirates of the carrabean so you guys should call him bannana jack
remember (we named the monkey jack)
” Deadeye Dede the Sharpshootin’ Monkey”
Soooo….. is the contest postponed now that the PSN version is delayed?
Nope, the contest ended on schedule, we’re just waiting for confirmation from the winner before making the official announcement (if you entered, check your email!). As for the PSN version, it won’t be a problem. If the winner chooses that version the download code will be awarded when the game releases.
Any news on the winner?
Winner was announced Saturday: http://www.vgblogger.com/?p=3975
