Scheduled for a November 22nd Day One takeoff, Crimson Dragon to me is looking more and more like the standout exclusive gem of the Xbox One launch lineup, even though it will in all likelihood become lost and forgotten about in the hype of all the blockbusters. It is a rail shooter after all, and these days the term rail shooter is treated like a dirty word. Well screw that, I love rail shooters!
Microsoft is wise to make the game a digital download (I’d love it on a disc, but realistically it would be fighting a losing battle for retail shelf space against the known franchises), and the $20 price tag should hopefully attract game-hungry Xbox One early adopters who just blew their savings to buy their shiny new next-gen console and need something fun to play on the cheap. Purchasing the game by December 31st will also come with the added benefit of a bonus DLC dragon to take into battle.
Get an updated look at Crimson Dragon‘s flight-based shooter action and Panzer Dragoon pedigree in the latest trailer and screenshots from Tokyo Game Show.
