Saturday afternoon, I was greeted by the arrival of an early copy of Culdcept Saga from Namco Bandai, which officially hits retail starting tomorrow. Alongside the game, I also got a nifty mini-strategy guide which contains plenty of helpful tips and some nice artwork to peek at. Very sweet stuff. As for the game itself, well… I’m still trying to work my way into the single-player campaign, as it took me something like 3-4 tries and about three hours just to beat the opening stage. Ouch! Either I really, really suck, or the game is really, really hard. Win or lose, I was unlocking cards with each attempt at least, so that kept me from getting too frustrated. Once I start learning my way around, though, I can see myself getting hooked on this sucker BIG time. I’ll check back in soon with a review. Until then, be sure to check out my recent interview with Culdcept Saga‘s Localization Producer Nobu Taguchi.
