Dark and Light Join Forces in Embers of Mirrim

Canadian studio Creative Bytes has unveiled its new game this week for PAX South. It’s called Embers of Mirrim, and it’s a unique platformer starring a mystical creature–it’s feathered like a bird but, to my eye, also has some dragon, feline, and vulpine characteristics–capable of splitting apart into entities of opposing dark and light forces. While split apart, the two embers are controlled independently, one by the left analog stick and the other by the right stick. This dual character mechanic will be used to control Mirrim on a grand journey of classic 2D platforming, puzzle solving, collectible hunting, chase sequences, and boss fights.

Embers of Mirrim is scheduled for release this spring on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. A Greenlight campaign has started for the PC version. Go give it an upvote if you’d like to see the game come to Steam.
