Dark Horse Announces Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst Prequel Comic

Mirror’s Edge hype is on full blast.

After yesterday, we now know that the next Mirror’s Edge, officially subtitled Catalyst, will be featuring prominently at EA’s E3 2015 game showcase. Now comes news that Dark Horse Comics has teamed up with Electronic Arts and DICE to publish a new Mirror’s Edge comic series.

(Which reminds me, I’ve been meaning to read the original Mirror’s Edge graphic novel. Anyone read that? Is it any good?)

Titled Mirror’s Edge: Exordium, the series will span six issues, beginning September 9th when the first 32-page issue goes on sale for $3.99. (Hmmm… Could that timing be an indication that Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst will be out this holiday or early next year?)

DICE narrative director Christofer Emgård is writing the story, while Emgård and fellow in-studio artists Mattias Häggström, Henrik Sahlström, Robert Sammelin, and Erik Persson are doing the ink work.

As a prequel to Catalyst, Exordium will chronicle the origin story of Mirror’s Edge star Faith as she changes “from a careless young woman to the heroine who opens the eyes of the city.”
