Dark Souls II PS3 Closed Beta Scheduled for October

This fall on PlayStation 3, Namco Bandai will host a closed beta test for Dark Souls II across North America and Europe. The beta will give players access to an entirely new area of the game world where they can test out the returning and expanded multiplayer and online interaction features as well as the game’s deeper role-playing elements. Testers can also expect to die. A lot.

The Dark Souls II closed beta is currently scheduled to start on October 5th, with additional details about registration and content to begin rolling out on September 5th via the game’s Facebook page. In the meantime, watch the embedded Gamescom video interview with game director Yui Tanimura to get a good sense of FromSoftware’s overall design approach for this highly anticipated sequel set to launch in March 2014.
