Daxter PSP Entertainment Pack Now Available

Originally slated to come out next week on the 10th, the limited edition Daxter PSP Entertainment Pack is now available in stores as SCEA has announced today. The package comes with the redesigned PSP slim in the new Ice Silver color, Ready At Dawn Studios’ phenomenal PSP platformer Daxter, a UMD copy of Family Guy – The Freakin’ Sweet Collection, and a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, all for only $199.99 — that’s one hell of a deal if you ask me. I just posted some new PSP slim images early this morning, check those out here.

“PSP sales have soared since we introduced the $169.99 price point in April, and that momentum will only continue with the launch of the newly designed PSP, which has generated strong interest among consumers since we announced it at E3,” said Jack Tretton, president and CEO, SCEA. “With our growing software library, which includes more than 140 new releases in the pipeline this fiscal year, the PSP platform is poised for significant growth. The Daxter Entertainment Pack offers a great opportunity for consumers to jump in to PlayStation® Portable experience with content that demonstrates the multi-functionality of the system, all for a great value.”

Also of note today, Sony has finally announced the prices for the AV cables needed for taking advantage of the PSP slim’s new video-out capabilities. Both the standard AV and component AV cables are available for $19.99 (they’re around 8 feet long too, which is good to know). An updated pair of headphones with remote control is releasing alongside the slim as well for $29.99.
