Deep Silver Makes Plans to Escape Dead Island in November

November 18th. That’s the day we find out whether or not Escape Dead Island, in development by Fatshark for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, succeeds as a spin-off bridge game between the original Dead Island and its upcoming new-gen sequel, Dead Island 2.

I’m not quite sure what to make of the game just yet. It appears to have that signature Dead Island melee visceral-ness down pat, and the shift to a third-person perspective with a surreal, comic-style atmosphere is a refreshing change. But something about it also strikes me as a bit sloppy and low budget. It does look like bloody, trippy fun if nothing else, though, so I’ll remain optimistic for now.

Check out the new trailer and see if you can unravel the mystery of Escape Dead Island.
