Deus Ex, Tomb Raider Devs Collaborating on Marvel Avengers Project

Marvel Entertainment has forged a multi-year alliance with Square Enix to develop new games based on Marvel’s iconic stable of super hero properties. This partnership begins first with the development of a game based on The Avengers, a project led by the Tomb Raider developers at Crystal Dynamics, in collaboration with the Deus Ex maestros at Eidos-Montréal. It’s rather fitting that a new Avengers game is being crafted by an Avengers-like team of developers, don’t you think?

Details about The Avengers are scarce at this point, but Square Enix has said that the game “will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come.” Additional details–for The Avengers and other Marvel titles that are in the works–won’t be revealed until next year. However, a quick teaser trailer has been released to get this hype train barreling down the tracks.
