Capcom has proudly reported that as of this past Saturday, the Devil May Cry 4 demo on Xbox Live has hit the one million download milestone, making it the first demo in 2008 to reach one million downloads and one of the fastest demos to accomplish the feat in the service’s history. How fast you ask? Well, according to the provided numbers, the demo has been averaging over 25,000 downloads every day since it launched on January 24th. That’s a lot of damn downloads, and this report only concerns the Xbox 360 version! Surely the PS3 demo has amassed a sizable download count as well.
Given the incredible success of the demo, it’s no surprise that DMC4 has been a huge hit at retail so far too, although Capcom hasn’t reported any specific numbers as of yet. From everything I’ve read and heard, the game definitely deserves the success. Still haven’t been able to play the full game yet to judge for myself (it’s killing me too!), but the demo rocked for sure. Hopefully I’ll get my hands on a copy soon and let you know how it turned out.
