Inspired by a recent comment from reader Renee on a previous post about the Dissidia: Final Fantasy soundtrack Amazon.com and Game Crazy are offering as a pre-order bonus for the PSP fighting game, we dropped a line in to Square Enix Monday afternoon to find out if a track list was available for the 10-song excerpts CD.
Well, great news. Today, Square Enix replied to our request and kindly provided us with the full track list to share with you — and you’ll find the track list after this!
With a total run time just under 30 minutes, the soundtrack features five songs new to Dissidia and five arranged versions of classic tunes from Final Fantasy I, III, IV, V and VI. This is not some skimpy pre-order soundtrack sampler, folks. This is a pre-order bonus done right!

Sweet, Clash on the Big Bridge and Terra’s theme made on! No one can understand how happy I am with the fact that none of the songs are from VII! For once a promotion where Square’s cash cow could have been used was not! Don’t get me wrong, VII has my favorite soundtrack of the entire series, but everything else about it is nothing special, except for a few characters (who ARE NOT Cloud and Sephiroth). I wish that music from 2 and 9 made it in, especially the map theme of 9, but Gilgamesh and Terra are enough for me!
I too was surprised by the lack of a FF VII track, given how much of a fan favorite it is. And I’m with you on FF IX, definitely wish a track from that made it on there. One of my favorite games in the series, and by far the most under appreciated if you ask me.
