Sony just announced yet another PSP Entertainment Pack bundle over on the PlayStation blog, this latest one for Square Enix’s Dissidia: Final Fantasy. The Dissidia bundle, consisting of a Mystic Silver PSP-3000, 2G Memory Stick, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children on UMD, and obviously the Dissidia game, will be available exclusively through GameStop starting August 25th priced at $199.99.
Square Enix has yet to make an official announcement regarding the standalone ship date for Dissidia: Final Fantasy, but with the bundle shipping August 25th it seems logical to expect the game to launch on the same day. But you never know, Squenix could launch it in advance of the bundle release, so don’t take this as confirmation just yet.
Also, what do you think this says about all the rumor mongering about Sony’s plans to release a redesigned UMD-less PSP later this year? The rumors could be true, but I’ll still only believe it when I see it. Given how much Sony is pushing all of these PSP-3000 bundles it simply wouldn’t make any sense to then go and release a new model.
New Limited Edition DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY PSP Entertainment Pack [PlayStation.Blog]
I can’t say that much of how Sony has been handling the new versions and bundles has made sense – they had new bundles of the PSP-2000 soon before and after the launch of the PSP-3000 …
Dissidia looks interesting, though.
