Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Put on Ice Until February

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but anyone expecting to enjoy some DK barrel launching fun on their Wii U this holiday season is about to feel the icy sting of disappointment.

Sadly, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will no longer be shipping this year. During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo confirmed that the next Donkey Kong romp has been pushed to February 2014 “in order to deliver the optimum gaming experience for fans.”

This is the game’s second delay in as many months. Tropical Freeze was initially scheduled to release in November before pulling a switheroo with Super Mario 3D World to move to a launch in December. Now it has been delayed even further. Talk about an ice cold bummer, man.
