Dragon Age: Origins Release Date Slippage Confirmed

On Friday, a couple online retailers listed updated ship dates for Dragon Age: Origins indicating a delay beyond the game’s originally scheduled October 20th launch. At first, BioWare refuted these listings, telling IGN that October 20th was still the target. Over the weekend, however, BioWare changed its tune and posted confirmation of the delay on the Dragon Age forum.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that the delay is fairly short, at least for PC and Xbox 360 users. On those platforms, Dragon Age will now ship two weeks later than scheduled on November 3rd in North America and November 6th in Europe. The PS3 version, on the other hand, no longer has a confirmed release date, with BioWare now simply stating that it’ll follow the other versions out the door “later in November.”

Perhaps BioWare is struggling a wee bit with polishing up its first PS3 project? Hopefully this isn’t a sign of another gimped PS3 multi-platform game, those days should be over at this point.
