Slimes take over the Big Apple tomorrow as the Nintendo World Store in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza plays host to a launch party for Nintendo, Level-5 and Square Enix’s latest JRPG sensation, Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies for the DS.

On Saturday, July 10 from 1-4 p.m., Nintendo invites you to join them in celebrating the North American launch of the hit game that’s already sold over four million copies in Japan. Yuji Horii, father of the Dragon Quest series, will be on hand to sign autographs for the first 30 fans in line to purchase the game ahead of its official street date, with demo stations and Dragon Quest-themed photo booths, ice cream treats and prize giveaways also on hand to ensure fun for all comers.

For those who can’t make it to the party to snag an early copy, Dragon Quest IX officially ships on July 11th. Just got my review copy yesterday, so watch for a review here at VGB in the coming weeks (depending on how long the game takes to complete). All’s I can say right now is so far so good!
