Okay, is it just me or does the following footage make it seem that the Wii controller just complicates matters in regards to a fighting game? Perhaps it’s just my mindset coming from playing other Dragonball Z titles on the PS2, but there seems to be a lot of unnecessary movements in order to just move around on the screen. The fact that special moves are accomplished by mimicking the movements of the characters is pretty neat though, and I do prefer that over pressing a random string of buttons.

Some games should just stay traditional. There is certainly a steep learning curve on this game, which is a bad thing for a series such as DBZ that has had some sub-par titles. The frustration level may be too high to propel anyone to challenge the game’s control when coincided with what, in the past, have been less-than stellar titles.
Or I could be wrong and the control, once mastered, could propel this series to higher levels of respect and audience.
Well, from what I know the game will support the old GameCube controller for those who don’t like the Wii controls, so if you want to play it like a standard fighter you’ll be able to. Honestly, the Wii controls don’t look like that much of a pain to me- all of the basic attacks and such are tied to button presses, and it’s only stuff like flying and dashing that needs the Wii-mote and nunchuk. I’m sure it’ll require a learning curve, as will most Wii games the first time in.
