Thanks to Capcom and the 2D platformer retro reboot maestros at WayForward, the cult classic NES title DuckTales is being remastered for a new age.
Scrooge McDuck is back and looking better than ever in DuckTales Remastered, a full-blown HD remake of the 1989 Disney cartoon platformer scheduled for a digital download launch this summer on PSN, XBLA and Wii U eShop. Scrooge’s remastered quest to retrieve the 5 Legendary Treasures features the same fundamental level layout as before, but has been expanded upon and refined with improved gameplay flow, richly detailed level backdrops, and newly hand-drawn and animated sprites in place of those old 8-bit pixels. Voice talent from the cartoon TV series also returns, as do the melodies of the original game’s highly regarded soundtrack (with a modern twist of course.)
It’s nostalgia in full force, folks. Come join the sing-a-long!
