[E3 2008] Electrifyingly Beautiful inFamous Screenshots

Infamous.jpg

Sandbox games generally don’t strike my fancy, but inFamous is one of the rare few to do so. For one thing, Sucker Punch is developing it so there’s no doubt it’ll be of the highest quality. Secondly, it’s a superhero game so the combat is based on amazing super powers rather than boring ol’ guns, and all themes of criminality that I’m so sick and tired of from the GTA series and its many clones are gone. And thirdly, the game just looks downright gorgeous. Most, if not all, open-world games past have had to sacrifice detail in favor of scale, but that doesn’t appear to be the case with inFamous.

Overall, inFamous is like Assassin’s Creed meets Crackdown with crazy electrical super powers, and to me that’s just fucking cool. GameSpot captured some great gameplay footage from a stage demo during E3. Screenshots aren’t enough to convey just how rad the game is, so I highly recommend clicking over via the above link to check out their video coverage on this one.
