[E3 2009] Metal Gear Solid Joins PS1 Classics Library June 18th!

Yes, more Metal Gear Solid news!

Konami has just announced that the original Metal Gear Solid masterpiece will be joining the PlayStation Store’s PS1 Classics library on June 18th for $9.99, a release date apparently timed to accompany Metal Gear Solid 4‘s joining of the $30 Greatest Hits club two days earlier on June 16th. Now all PS3 and PSP owners will have the chance to experience where the MGS saga all began.

“Since it’s debut in 1987, the Metal Gear franchise has stood the test of time and continues to break new standards in story-telling and gameplay,” said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., “These two releases are a perfect way to bridge the original game that created this genre with the latest masterpiece that brought it to an all-new level.”
