E3 2017: Annapurna Interactive Shows Off The Artful Escape and Ashen

Annapurna Interactive has two indie gems showcasing at this year’s E3 extravaganza, both coming to PC and Xbox One when they’re damn well ready.

First up is The Artful Escape of Francis Vendetti, an oddball, psychedelic “action, adventure, exploration, narrative driven, musical-laser-light-battle kind of game” about a teenage guitar prodigy’s quest to inspire his stage persona. Only a studio calling itself Beethoven & Dinosaur could think up such a wild ride.

And then there is Ashen, Aurora44’s third-person action RPG featuring passive multiplayer, non-linear progression through an open-world environment, high risk combat, and a distinctive low-poly art style. So yeah, the game clearly seems to have some Souls influences going on, along with some of its own touches.
